Great Ski Today! (Friday)

Saturday, March 3rd, 2012

Given the forecast for the weekend we snuck up for a late afternoon ski at BREIA today. The conditions could not have been more perfect. The trails were packed down, there was plenty of snow and no ice, it was warm but a little windy. We appreciate so much this incredible place and all the people responsible for giving it and maintaining it. What a gift to all of us!

Response from BREIA>>>

Linda,

Thanks for your kind words. It is always nice to feel appreciated.

Also, kudos to you for anticipating the great conditions yesterday. Given our season to date and its significant lack of snow it pays to be opportunistic and you clearly are.

It appears from the current forecast conditions will remain the same or hopefully even improve through the weekend.

In our Mission Statement, BREIA is described as “A Gift To The People Of New York”, a natural treasure we encourage all to take advantage of.

Thanks for helping us spread the word.

So I know there will be rain Saturday -if there is sufficient base is this groomable afterwards – or do you anticipate unskiable ice?

Do you have trail conditions updated on the phone# (315) 942-2299 , or only on the website? I live in PA but will be in NY this weekend (without internet acccess) – Thanks! -Ted

FROM BREIA >>

Hi Ted…
Our plan is to groom all trails Friday morning. That will likely be it for the weekend unless we get more than a light snowfall tomorrow. We can’t groom well once afternoon temps get above freezing. Saturday skiing should be good. We do not have conditions available on the phone line weekends. The website is the best bet. If you have someone with you with a smartphone, conditions could be checked on it.
