Plantation trail
Thursday, January 26th, 2017Great Skiing
Thursday, January 26th, 2017Skied yesterday, 12/31/16, late morning, from Egypt Road parking near RR tracks to Egypt Road Hut. Conditons were excellent . Also did the Cherry Tree loop. Conditions there were not as good, with some wet spots at creek crossings, but still passable.
Plantation trail
Tuesday, January 17th, 2017Cannot wait for more snow and for this favorite trail to be groomed. Of course I love all the trails year round.
Beautiful Trails!!!!!
Wednesday, February 10th, 2016We skied all the trails last weekend. The conditions were excellent with the trails either groomed or tracked. We would like to give a big thank you to the family that provided the land and whoever is responsible for the upkeep. We especially enjoyed the telemark warming hut. My girlfriend and I wanted to live there! The upkeep of the trails, bathrooms, and warming huts must be huge undertaking and we all really appreciated the work that went into making it such a wonderful place to spend a winter weekend.

Skating Trails on Jackson Hill
Monday, December 21st, 2015I visited the Jackson Hill trails last year that are marked for skate skiing on the map. The trails were groomed for classic skiing every time i visited. Do the crews plan on grooming for skating this coming year?
Skate Skiing
Monday, December 21st, 2015I see on your web site that skate skiing is allowed in a certain area on Jackson Hill. Is the area groomed specifically for skate skiing?

Monday, December 21st, 2015I just wanted to express my appreciation to the founders of the Black River Environment Improvement Association (and the people that maintain the trails). Being fortunate enough to live only a few miles from the Egypt Road facilities, I took full advantage this year and hit the trails often (several times each week). I decided this past year, it was going to be the year I would get “back in shape,” and your trails certainly played a big part in that goal. They made it easy for me to get out and exercise. Your trail system is a tremendous asset to our community and to all those that take advantage of it. And for that–I thank you.

SKI WAX
Wednesday, March 4th, 2015Do you recommend a particular all-purpose ski wax? If so, where can it/they be purchased. We skied Black River Canal Trail New Year’s Day and 1 of us got bogged by sticky snow. Thanks

Jackson Hill
Wednesday, March 4th, 2015A group of nine skied Jackson Hill on Sunday Jan 18th. There were three other groups and one single gentleman.
We appreciated who ever cut the trail for us to enjoy! It made our trip very enjoyable. The trees were just laden with fresh snow and just beautiful.
Of course we were disappointed that the trails were not groomed and the warming hut was not open. Unfortunately we did not check your site before heading out. We still enjoyed a tailgate snack in the parking lot.
Looking forward to your grooming effort and use of the warming hut!

Feb. 20th Skiing
Wednesday, March 4th, 2015Just a short note to everyone at BREIA X-Country Center. We were visiting my good college friend, Dave Jones (Utica) and he took us to BREIA. It was spectacular. Last weekend we were at Trapps Family Lodge and Craftsbury Center in Vermont and today at BREIA was just as good if not better then our skiing last weekend. The rolling hills and the ascents were magnificent and the trails were groomed perfect.
My friend, David said Echo Lake was the best he has seen it.
We will be back!
